One Vehicle, Every Mission: Oracle’s Custom Tesla Cybertruck

As the project lead at Oracle, I had the honor of building and guiding a revolutionary initiative under the mentorship of Larry Ellison, Mike Sicilia, and Steve Seoane. Together, we created a vehicle that redefines what a first responder’s tool can be. The custom Tesla Cybertruck, integrated with Oracle’s Public Safety (OPS) Solutions, was designed not just for one purpose, but for every mission—whether it’s patrol, SWAT operations, search and rescue, command and control, or EMS support. This is a vehicle that does it all, consolidating multiple roles into a single, versatile platform. With unparalleled efficiency, adaptability, and advanced technology, this Cybertruck empowers first responders to meet any challenge head-on, with a level of integration and performance never before seen in public safety.

In this journey, I worked tirelessly to identify and partner with the right experts and organizations to bring this vision to life. From Westin Automotive, Innovative and Code 3, to Starlink, Peplink, and StellarMount, we needed partners who shared our commitment to quality, innovation, and operational excellence. Each partner brought specialized skills that were critical to the success of the project, and the collaboration required countless hours of communication, problem-solving, and co-designing.

Building a Futuristic Vehicle for Today’s First Responders

The Cybertruck is already a futuristic vehicle in its own right, but to meet the complex demands of public safety, we had to make it truly extraordinary. One of the first major challenges was creating a front bumper that matched the bold, angular lines of the Cybertruck while also ensuring it was functional, rugged, and practical for first responders. Working closely with Westin Automotive, we designed a custom bumper that not only looked futuristic but also incorporated essential features such as increased durability, winch capabilities, and integration with emergency lighting systems. The collaboration with Westin was a vital part of the vehicle’s aesthetic, ensuring that the Cybertruck’s design language was both preserved and enhanced for public safety purposes.

One of the standout features of this vehicle is its Custom Drone Deployment System. Designed to give first responders a unique tactical advantage, the system allows for immediate aerial support at the touch of a button. Working with Innovative and Code 3, we built a system that seamlessly integrates with the Cybertruck. The drone is always in full deployment mode, ready to be launched instantly without any need for additional setup, allowing responders to gather critical aerial intelligence in seconds. This system doesn’t just represent technological integration—it’s a game-changer for situational awareness, enabling responders to stay ahead of rapidly changing scenarios with real-time aerial data.

Connectivity was another critical challenge. In the field, especially in remote or disaster-stricken areas, reliable, high-speed, and secure communication is paramount. We worked with Starlink and Peplink to ensure the Cybertruck would be equipped with the best in satellite and mobile connectivity. The vehicle is outfitted with Starlink Mini for global internet coverage and Peplink for seamless integration with high-speed 5G networks, ensuring that no matter where a first responder is, they are always connected to Oracle’s Public Safety Solutions platform.

In addition, we integrated AT&T’s FirstNet for secure, high-speed communication that prioritizes first responder traffic, making sure officers have uninterrupted access to live data feeds, video streams, and incident management systems—no matter the environment.

This project was a monumental effort that required innovation at every step. Hours and hours of brainstorming, engineering, and testing went into making this vision a reality. It was more than just about integrating the right technologies—it was about creating a cohesive system that worked flawlessly together, as if it were one, singular entity. Working with our partners, we focused on every detail—from the rugged enhancements of the Cybertruck’s exterior to the seamless operation of Oracle’s Public Safety Suite inside.

This wasn’t a project where we could afford to cut corners or settle for anything less than perfection. From the fully integrated hardware and software solutions to the real-time video feeds and AI-driven analytics that provide actionable intelligence, every part of the system was designed to be intuitive, fast, and reliable—because every second counts in public safety.

What we created together is not just a vehicle; it’s a revolutionary tool that can adapt to any mission. Whether it’s routine patrol, tactical deployment, EMS support, or serving as a mobile command center, the Oracle-Tesla Cybertruck is a multi-functional powerhouse that eliminates the need for separate fleets, reducing both acquisition and maintenance costs for law enforcement agencies.
